Forgot to include one photo I took during setup last Friday. If we are at the back of the convention hall (which often happens considering the size of our booth and the proximity of the loading dock), we store the crates and boxes behind the booth. It’s a little like the Wizard of Oz — big and scary out front, not so much in back . . .

On to more important things — the recipe for Sour Cream Drops. This is my mom’s and it’s my son’s favorite. He really misses them when Mom & Dad are in Arizona for the winter, so I make them for him occasionally.

Old Fashioned Sour Cream Drops

1/2 cup soft shortening (take a little out and replace with margarine)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix and chill in refrigerator at least one hour. Drop rounded teaspoons about 2″ apart on cookie sheet. Lightly top before baking with a mixture of three parts sugar and one part cinnamon (it doesn’t take much).

Bake at 400 degrees for about 9 1/2 minutes until delicately browned around the edges.

Enjoy . . .
